Our approach

1

Join our waiting list

Are you interested in a DoubleStreet puppy? Then sign up for our waiting list! You can find our litter planning and puppy availability on our website under the ‘Puppies’ section. Our waiting list helps us ensure that each puppy finds the right home and allows us to maintain the high standard of care we strive for. By joining, you’re taking the first step toward welcoming a well-socialized, healthy, and loving companion into your life.

2

After signing in

After you sign up, we will get in touch with you to provide more information about what to expect between your registration and welcoming your new companion. We’ll guide you through each step of the process, answer any questions you may have, and keep you updated on upcoming litters and important milestones along the way.
We do our best to plan each litter as accurately as possible, but it remains a natural process. Of course, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.

3

Introduction

Once the puppies are born, we’ll invite you for an introductory meeting. During this time, we’ll share everything you’d like to know about the litter, the parent dogs, and how we raise our pups. No question is too big or too small – so feel free to ask anything!

4

Gezamenlijke keuze

We vinden het belangrijk dat er een klik is tussen het baasje en de pup. Daarom proberen we zo goed mogelijk rekening te houden met je wensen en selecteren we in overleg.

5

Aftercare

After you’ve welcomed your puppy, we remain available for all your questions and needs.
Because we’ve lovingly cared for your puppy during the first few weeks of its life, saying goodbye is always an emotional moment for us. That’s why we truly appreciate receiving photos and updates about how your pup is doing. We stay in touch to ensure that you and your new companion have a great start together.

We do everything we can to give your puppy the best possible start. When you pick up your puppy, we ensure that several essential things are taken care of:

  • A European animal passport
  • Regular deworming
  • A microchip and registration in a Dutch database
  • The first vaccination (the next vaccinations are at 9 and 12 weeks)
  • Extensive socialization based on ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation)
  • A copy of the health certificates of the parent dogs
  • A puppy pack including food and a blanket from the litter
  • An informational brochure
  • A pedigree/lineage certificate

Health

We take the health aspect very seriously. All of our parent dogs undergo thorough veterinary examinations for potential issues and have been given the green light to be used for breeding. This goes beyond a standard health check and includes multiple objective visual and radiographic exams. We test for hips, elbows, patellas, and eyes, among other things. Additionally, we take DNA samples from our dogs to exclude hereditary diseases that cannot be detected with traditional tests. We test the DNA at Dr. van Haeringen Laboratory, Orivet in Australia, and Embark in the United States. We never breed with parent dogs when it is not responsible to do so.

When you purchase a puppy from us, you will have access to the health certificates. We value transparency, which is why we also include the results of the health checks on the profile pages of the parent dogs. Before the puppies leave the litter, they are examined by a veterinarian and provided with a health certificate.

Socialization: an important part of our approach
At DoubleStreet, we understand that a well-socialized puppy is key to a happy and balanced companion. That’s why we pay great attention to the socialization of our puppies during their time with us, based on the Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) program.

In ENS, five small actions are performed daily on each puppy, which create neurological stimuli that would not otherwise occur during this stage of life. This mild stress has positive effects, such as better stress resilience in adult dogs. The exercises are repeated daily when the puppies are between 3 and 16 days old.

In addition, our puppies are introduced to various situations, sounds, people, and other animals to help them become familiar with the world around them. As a new owner, you can trust that your puppy has built a strong foundation for a life full of adventures and new encounters.

Purchase price

Sales agreement and deposit
Our puppies are sold under contract, which means that mutual obligations and guarantees are outlined in an agreement. The Australian Cobberdog is a protected breed, so breeding with our puppies is not allowed. We are not in favor of mandatory spaying or neutering, as it does not always benefit the health of dogs. We leave this decision up to the future owners. If you're looking for a breeding prospect, please visit the ‘For Breeders’ page.

When you sign up for our waiting list, a deposit of €250 is required, which will be deducted from the total purchase price upon full payment.
