Unlike many traditional kennel clubs, the MDBA emphasizes not just the appearance of the dog, but especially health, character, and well-being. They recognize that true breed improvement goes beyond physical traits \u2013 and that breeding healthy, well-socialized dogs starts with knowledge, integrity, and careful selection.<br \/><br \/><strong>Independed governance and breed advice<br \/><\/strong>The MDBA is led by an independent board that oversees objective decision-making and the enforcement of ethical guidelines. Additionally, there is an active Breed Advisory Committee, consisting of experienced breeders, geneticists, and specialists. This committee:<\/p><ul><li>Offers support in developing responsible breeding goals<\/li><li>Advises on genetic health and inbreeding limitations<\/li><li>Monitors breed standard<\/li><li>Carefully assesses pedigrees and registration applications.<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>This structure ensures transparency, expertise, and a strong focus on the well-being of the dog \u2013 not on prestige or shows.<br \/><br \/><strong>MDBA and the Australian Cobberdog<br \/><\/strong>The Australian Cobberdog is a young breed developed with the aim of creating a social, hypoallergenic, and intelligent dog, with special qualities as a therapy or assistance dog. In 2012, Australian breeder Beverley Rutland-Manners officially submitted her carefully developed breed for recognition with the MDBA.<\/p><p>With years of carefully bred lines, supported by health data and temperament selection, the breed was accepted under the name Australian Cobberdog. Since then, the MDBA has been the only organization in the world to officially recognize the Australian Cobberdog as a distinct breed, with its own pedigree and breed standard.<\/p><p>Thanks to Beverley\u2019s vision and dedication, the Australian Cobberdog is now globally recognized as a breed with an exceptionally stable character, suitable for people with allergies, families, and therapeutic applications.<br \/><br \/><strong>Why this is important to you<br \/><\/strong>As an accredited MDBA breeder, we follow the guidelines of this organization to the letter.
